Most travelers require a visa to enter Nepal, except Indian citizens.

Tourist Visa (On Arrival)

Nepal offers Visa on Arrival for most nationalities at Kathmandu & Pokhara International Airports and major land border crossings.

Visa Fees

  • 15 Days – USD 30

  • 30 Days – USD 50

  • 90 Days – USD 125

(Visa fees are payable in cash – USD or equivalent currency.)

Required Documents

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months

  • One passport-size photo

  • Completed visa application form

  • Visa fee payment receipt

Visa Extension

Tourist visas can be extended at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

  • Minimum extension: 15 days (USD 45)

  • Additional days: USD 3 per day

  • Maximum stay: 150 days per calendar year

  • Some nationalities must obtain a visa in advance from a Nepalese embassy.

  • Overstaying without extension may result in fines or penalties.
